It’s hard for us to believe but we’re celebrating our 24th Anniversary in 2022!

Situated on 5 beautiful acres at the Stratham circle The Wingate is our home to over 50 beauty industry professionals. The house itself was built in 1786 by John Wingate, whose father Paine Wingate served as a Senator from New Hampshire under our nation’s new Constitution. Local lore says that during George Washington’s trip to New Hampshire in 1789, he was received as an honored guest at The Wingate House.

Through hard work and good fortune The Wingate has grown into the premiere salon & day spa for New England. Since our beginning in 1998 we’ve expanded space for spa services, couples treatments and a tea room. Famous for our traditional English tea service served during days of beauty or spa parties, The Wingate scones are the highlight of that service. Ask anyone if they’ve had a Wingate scone and they are sure to share their delight!

The Wingate has our exclusive Bridal & Events suite. This beautiful, private room offers hair, make-up and other spa services along with space for photographs, a changing room. The Wingate has continued to send many happy brides off to their big day from this special space. The suite is also a great hosting spot for spa parties.

Along the way The Wingate garnered many accolades. The salon and spa has been voted Best of New Hampshire by New Hampshire Magazine readers 10 years running. Our bridal services have also been recognized, receiving Best of Bride awards. Other honors include Best Spa Day for Mom from Parenting Magazine, Top 200 Salons in America from Salon Today Magazine, Best Manicures & Pedicures by NHPR’s New Hampshire A-List, Best Spa Party Location by Celebrations Magazine, Best Spa for New Hampshire Women by Applaud Magazine, Top Rated Vendor on WeddingWire.Com. In addition the Wingate has been featured multiple times in local print and radio media including the Exeter Newsletter, Portsmouth Herald, New Hampshire Magazine, WMUR Channel 9, WOKQ 97.5, Z100, The River 92.5 and WHEB 100.3

Charity Policy
Charity Policy

The Wingate Salon and Spa is committed to working with local groups in order to create partnerships throughout the New Hampshire seacoast area. Our current charity policy supports charities and/or organizations through gift certificate or gift basket donations. These donations may be utilized at fundraising programs and events.

In an effort to make meaningful contributions to our community, The Wingate Salon and Spa has identified two key areas of giving:

• Women’s Health & Wellness
• Children’s Health & Advocacy

Each year we receive hundreds of donation requests from worthy causes in the seacoast area. Due to the volume of applications that we receive, we must unfortunately decline some requests that may indeed be consistent with our priorities.

Donation requests are accepted via email only, and must be received at least three weeks prior to your event, and include the following:

1. Full name of charitable organization and charitable tax registration number
2. Complete mailing address, telephone, and email
3. Name and title of contact person
4. Purpose of donation and needs of community addressed
5. Previous Wingate involvement, if applicable
6. How the Wingate’s donation will be advertised
7. How you will report on the impact of the donation back to the Wingate

All requests should be emailed to:
donations@wingatespa.com

The Wingate management meets on a bi-monthly basis to make all decisions regarding gift donations. All decisions are final.
